In this section, I have included some of my favourite pieces from the last few years. Each piece has its own story and is the result of many hours of discussion with the client. Every design has its own set of challenges and turning an idea from a simple sketch into the finished item is always demanding but very rewarding.

Good handmade furniture has a beauty that is only discernible when seen in the flesh, the careful use of timber, the way that doors and drawers move and close, quality speaks for itself.

Case study......

A careful and lengthy consultation led to the building of this maple desk and chair for an architect based in London. My client had always admired the work of English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens and wanted to integrate many of his architectural features on this commissioned desk. Originally one desk and chair were ordered, but on seeing the completed desk a second was ordered for his city office.

The chairs below were designed to compliment the desk and the upholstery fabric matches the lining of the drawing storage in the desk.
