About Me
Woodworking was an amateur passion of mine for many years. My love and understanding of wood must have been passed down from my father, who was a mechanical fitter by trade but would turn his hand to most things – he loved to restore antiques and experiment on his home-made lathe.
In 1990, I decided to leave the security of working for Rolls Royce in Derby and concentrate on professional furniture making. Full of confidence but with little experience, I started my business in a unit at the Ferrers Centre in Leicestershire, which was already well established as a centre for arts and crafts.
After the breakup of my first marriage, I moved to Lincolnshire for a few years with my partner (now wife) Kay. When I found my current workshop in Dorset in 2016, it was the former dairy at Gowell Farm. After many months of hard labour, I converted this empty shell into my complete workshop and showroom. I am grateful to be running my business in such beautiful surroundings.
Where to Find Me
My workshop and showroom are situated in the beautiful rural landscape of Dorset, just above Abbotsbury and only a few hundred yards from the Hardy Way footpath, with its stunning views along the coastline.
